Polyhedrons

I am developing methods to construct sphere-shaped objects that are based upon polyhedrons. The first two that I have made are based on the icosohedron. Each of the 20 triangular faces on an icosohedron is replaced by a circular disc. The discs are joined at the edges by wooden keys. The openings that are formed at the intersections of five discs allow you to look through the sphere and see the inside surface. If each of these 12 openings were filled with a disc you obtain an object that resembles a soccer ball (an icosododecahedron). The spalted beech dodecahedrom is not spherical because the 12 discs were cone shaped.
